John Raabe, DDS

Dr. Raabe is a highly experienced and accomplished dentist who has been an integral part of his family practice since 1998. Over the years, he has taken on various roles within the practice, eventually becoming the Chief Clinician and President of Raabe Family Dentistry in 2002. He earned his DDS degree in 1990 from the University of Colorado and holds a B.S. in Perceptual Physiology from the University of Michigan, awarded in 1984. Dr. Raabe's commitment to continuous learning is evident in the additional hours of training he has completed in various areas of dentistry, including aesthetic dentistry, implants, craniofacial pain, and obstructive sleep apnea treatments.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Raabe is deeply involved in giving back to his community through various initiatives and volunteering efforts. He is the founder of The Raabe Family Dentistry Charitable Foundation, co-founder of The Generations Clinic at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, and the founder of The Smile Again Program (formerly known as The Domestic Violence Dental Project). He has also served as a volunteer assistant professor of restorative dentistry at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and has been an active participant in the Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. His commitment to community well-being is further demonstrated by his involvement as a volunteer dentist at the Inner-city Health Clinic in Denver.

Dr. Raabe's unique interests extend beyond traditional dentistry, as he has a keen focus on the dental and facial considerations of playing wind instruments. His expertise in this area has allowed him to collaborate with musicians to enhance their performance. He's not only skilled in his profession but is also a passionate musician himself. Dr. Raabe has been playing music since his school days and is a member of the local band Bluez House, where he plays the trumpet and baritone saxophone. This love for music has remained a constant in his life, and he continues to perform and share his musical talents around town.

Away from the office, Dr. Raabe's personal life revolves around his family and interests. He is married to Kathy and together they have a son named Max, who is involved in acting and athletics. Dr. Raabe enjoys a variety of outdoor activities like biking, skiing, tennis, and golf. His connection to his roots is strong, being a 5th generation Coloradan. His involvement in music, both professionally and personally, brings him joy, and he often performs with Bluez House at various local venues. Dr. Kellie Bateman, DMD

Dr. Kellie Bateman is a dedicated and compassionate dentist who values building strong relationships with her patients. Her expertise lies in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, and she is also trained as an Invisalign provider. She is known for her ability to make patients feel at ease during their dental treatments, combining her advanced skills with a genuine empathy for their comfort and well-being. Her commitment to holistic health is evident through her understanding of craniofacial pain and alignment with the whole body health philosophy promoted by Raabe Family Dentistry.

Raised on a cattle ranch in rural Florida, Dr. Bateman developed a love for the outdoors. She pursued her education at the University of Florida, where she earned a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a specialization in Nutrition. During her time there, she volunteered at a non-profit dental clinic, an experience that instilled in her a lasting dedication to serving those in need of dental care.

Her journey continued at the University of Las Vegas, School of Dental Medicine, where she honed her dental skills. Dr. Bateman's commitment to community service persisted as she participated in weekend dental clinics for veterans and children. In 2017, she moved to Denver and eventually joined Raabe Family Dentistry in 2022, where she has continued to offer her expertise while also contributing to the Colorado Mission of Mercy's annual free dental clinic.

Who is Dr. bateman away from the office?

Outside of her professional role, Dr. Bateman leads an active and balanced life. She engages in skiing and snowboarding, reflecting her love for outdoor pursuits. She also enjoys trail running with her canine companion, Darwin, and participates in community volleyball leagues. Maintaining her holistic approach to well-being, she practices meditation and yoga regularly. Her intellectual curiosity is evident in her choice of reading material, which includes science fiction and self-improvement books.

Dr. George Messer, DMD

Dr. Messer is a highly accomplished dentist who joined Raabe Family Dentistry in 2020. He has a diverse educational background, starting with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with highest honors from The University of Texas. His interest in dentistry led him to pursue a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from The University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine.

During his time at dental school, Dr. Messer's dedication and excellence were evident through his involvement in a research project focused on dental materials. His achievements in the field of dental materials and oral surgery were recognized with awards.

Following his dental school education, Dr. Messer further honed his skills and expertise by completing a two-year advanced training program at St. Francis Hospital's General Practice Residency program. This program provided him with the opportunity to expand his capabilities in various areas, such as extracting impacted teeth, placing dental implants, handling complex dental cases, and treating medically intricate patients. His commitment and proficiency during this residency resulted in him receiving the Resident of the Year Award and the Oral Surgery Award.

In his professional practice, Dr. Messer is known for his compassionate and gentle approach to patient care. He is dedicated to assisting patients in achieving their oral health and cosmetic goals. Dr. Messer's skill set encompasses a range of in-house oral surgical procedures, including extractions, dental implants, and root canals.

Who is Dr. messer away from the office?

Away from the office, Dr. Messer's life is centered around his family. He relocated to Colorado in 2015 due to his wife's career at Children's Hospital. Together, they have two children who share a love for activities such as Boy Scouts of America, skiing, and camping.
